Some 12 years ago, in highschool, my teacher tried to convince me that the israeli democracy is very weak. At the time, I didn’t agree with him. Unfortunately, I was wrong – as the past decade has proven so profoundly. The fact that a very large minority in Israel, as we see these days, doesn’t accept the “game rules” the minute they are not in its favor, and doesn’t regard the sovereinity of the state as something of any importance, brings back old conceptions about how well jews have always been in self destruction.
