Traditional Dinner
We went to the Traditional Northern Thai Dinner tonight (I don’t remember the whole name, though it starts with a “K”). Don’t bother. It’s not worth the money.
The meal consists of 7 different dishes – most are not particularly interesting – and rice. You sit on the floor while you eat (it is carpeted and slightly cushioned) and listen to live traditional music. I liked the music, though often it reminded me of cats in a burlap sack..
After the music, there are all sorts of traditional dances – most are not really worth seeing, and the explaination which is in English isn’t very understandable.
To top it off, it’s expensive, and the price doesn’t cover drinks of any kind, so we spent nearly 1000 baht on the whole thing.
Oh, well..
Oded is stuck with some problem from work, but we might go to the night market after.. Oded want’s to find me a decent backpack for the trek tomorrow.. I hope it’s better than the dinner!
Its Khantoke (קהאנטוקה).
Reasons why it might be worth it:
* Its all you can eat: they refill everything – don’t eat lunch and come hungry.
* The curries are quite good, although Karen couldn’t enjoy them 🙂
* I’m not hundred percent sure, but i think a lot of the money spent there goes to help the hill tribes.

קרן כותבת באנגלית כדי שגם החברים שלה שלא יודעים עברית יוכלו לקרוא ולהבין. אני משתדל לכתוב בעברית כשאני יכול ולכסות את רוב הדברים שעברנו, אבל לפעמים לא בא לי – מצטער 🙂
לגבי האיים – יש אי אחד שכתוב עליו בעיתון נקרא – קו-צ’אנג נמצא על רצועת חוף 300 ק”מ מדרום לבנגקוק לא רחוק מהגבול הקמבודי 4 שעות נסיעה מבנגקוק ,ג’ונגל פראי עצי מנגו, בננות,קוקוס יש שם בתי עץ ולדעת המקומיים זה הגן עדן האחרון בדרום מזרח אסיה.
יש שם ים שאפשר לשנרקל בו ויש בקרבה (חצי שעה שייט) אי אלמוגים משגע. יש גם יער שאפשר ללכת לטייל ברגל, לאורך כל החוף פזורים בקתות עץ בדרגות שונות כולל גסט האוס בסיסים.
יש גם רכיבה על פילים. הכותבת אומרת ששלושה ימים זה היה בשבילה קצר מידי.
יש כמובן את האי קו פי פי ויש את קופנגן וכמובן את פוקט שאומרים שהיא כבר בנויה מחדש, לאי עם המוסלמים אני מציע לא לנסוע לא צריך לחפש צרות . העיקר תבלו הייטב ובזהירות.
