גוגל השיקו אתמול את שרות החדשות שלהם בעברית, ואחת הידיעות בעמוד הראשי היום היא ידיעה המשוכה מחדשות וואלה, שבה מסופר שוואלה תובעים את גוגל על כך שהם מושכים חדשות מהאתר שלהם, בגין “פגיעה חמורה בזכויות הקניין… אגב הפרת זכויות היוצרים בהן” – כך במקור .

For everyone who’s been living under a rock for the past few years, Apple browser – Safari – is based on the KHTML rendering engine and KJS JavaScript engine from KDE. Apple copied them to create their own open source project: Webkit, which attracted some open-source developers that contributed to webkit projects and to products that are based on them – Apple’s Safari most notably, but 3rd party MacOSX web browsers are using it as well, and also Nokia’s Series 60 3rd edition web browser (And its really nice that Nokia credits both Webkit and KDE).

Now Apple is trying to give back to the community by rewarding top Webkit contributors with Macbook Pro laptops.

היום בדרך לעבודה, שמעתי ברדיו (בתוכנית הבוקר של רפי רשף) את גלעד ארדן (ליכוד) מתנצח עם אברהם הירשזון (קדימה, ליכוד לשעבר), ואחת הנקודות שהוא טרח להטיח בהירשזון היא ש”אהוד אולמרט נתן לחמאס לנצח בבחירות על ידי זה שנתן להם לקיים את הבחירות במזרח ירושליים”. הירשזון רק ציין שההשפעה של מזרח ירושליים על התוצאות הסופיות היתה קטנה מאוד אם בכלל והחמאס היה מנצח בכל מקרה.

I’ve read a note by some guy at forum/blogging web site called PlanetCrap. Its an old one and the discussion isn’t relevant so I won’t put up a direct link (and the content on that site is pretty bad), but this one guy said:

True, but encryption laws in the United States have been written so it is impossible for terrorists to use an encryption scheme that the government cannot break if need be.

Which is something I hear often enough to trouble me – the problem is like this: A lot of countries have anti-cryptography laws, including here in Israel (although its been update recently so you just can’t invent new and stronger ciphers, instead of outlawing current strong ciphers like the Americans are stupidly doing).
The premise of all anti-cryptography laws is something like this: “We are going to outlaw the lawful exchange and use of strong cryptography algorithms because we don’t want them to be access by “bad people”". Which is inherently incredibly silly!

המערכת הפוליטית הישראלית לפעמים משעשעת, אבל בד”כ אסון. הסיפור האחרון שאני רוצה להרחיב עליו הוא הבחירות הפנימיות במפלגות ה”גדולות” וההשפעה עליהן של המפלגה החדשה של אריאל שרון (שעדיין שרוי בתרדמת), “קדימה”.

“קדימה” עדיין, מאיזו סיבה לא ברורה, מככבת בסקרים עם באזור ה-40 מנדטים (למרות שכבר ברור לכולם שאריאל שרון לא יעמוד בראשה). ההשפעה המיידית של נתון זה הוא שכל הרשימות האחרות לכנסת הולכות להסתפק בהרבה פחות כיסאות ממה שיש להם בכנסת הנוכחית.

בעקבות הארוע הרפואי שהיה לרה”מ אריאל שרון והאשפוז, התקשורת מלאה בדיונים על מידת החשיפה שצריכה להיות למצבו הבריאותי של ראש הממשלה.

הסקנדל התורן היה שהתגלתה העובדה שבמסגרת הבדיקות השגרתיות בבית החולים, ראש הממשלה הורדם בהרדמה כללית לכשעה, והתחוללה מאין סערה פומבית בזעיר-אנפין על האם ה”ציבור” היה צריך להיות מיודע על השתלשלות זו.

היינו בשבת באילת – קרן ואני, אורי ושני ידידים של קרן.
לא היה יותר מדי עמוס -
* ירדנו ביום חמישי בשעה סבירה, והיתה קצת פאשלה עם המלון (לא הבנתי מה זה “אכסנית הצוללים של אמבסדור” שהתברר כמבנים טרומיים מחוץ למלון).
* אני ואורי עשינו שלוש צלילות ביום שישי בזמן שקרן והשאר עשו צלילת הכרות אחת וניסו להספיק לטיול גמלים (שהתפקשש)
